HubSpot Sales Dashboards: What Account Executives, Account Managers, and Leadership Should Each See

Written by Thomas Buchanan | 8/6/26, 7:07 PM

A HubSpot dashboard built for everyone ends up useful to no one. Account executives, account managers, and sales leadership all need different information to do their jobs, and building one generic view for the whole team is one of the most common mistakes we see in a fresh implementation.

The fix isn't complicated. It just requires deciding, upfront, what each user group actually needs to see.

ACCOUNT EXECUTIVES: HUNTERS NEED ACTIVITY, PIPELINE, AND FORECAST

If your AEs are responsible for net-new business, their dashboard should answer three questions every morning. First, activity: how many calls, emails, and meetings have they logged, since activity is what precedes revenue. Second, pipeline: how many deals have they opened, broken out over whatever window matches your sales cycle, whether that's 30, 60, 90 days, or year-to-date. Third, forecast: how much revenue is realistically coming in this month and next, so a rep knows early whether they need to increase activity or adjust their approach.

And this isn't just a leadership view. Every individual rep should have access to their own version of this dashboard, not just a rolled-up team number they see in a Monday meeting.

ACCOUNT MANAGERS: FARMERS NEED A DIFFERENT SCOREBOARD

Account managers are working a completely different job, so their dashboard should look different too. Renewals due this month matter more than net-new pipeline. Accounts with no activity in a defined window are a leading indicator of churn risk and deserve their own line. Expansion deals still show up here, but they should be tracked separately from new-logo deals since they behave differently and often need different messaging.

Activity levels still matter for account managers, just in a different context: fewer cold outreach touches, more relationship maintenance and account health checks.

LEADERSHIP: THE ROLLUP, NOT THE RAW FEED

Sales leadership doesn't need every individual rep's raw activity feed. They need the pattern across the team: which reps are pacing ahead or behind quota, where pipeline is thin, and which accounts are trending toward churn or expansion. Build this as its own dashboard rather than trying to force an executive view out of the same components you built for reps.

WHY THIS IS WORTH THE SETUP TIME

None of this is set-and-forget. Dashboards should be revisited as your team structure changes, new roles get added, or your sales cycle shifts. But the upfront cost of building role-specific dashboards is small compared to the cost of a team quietly ignoring a dashboard that was never built for them in the first place.

This is part of what should already be locked down before your team gets trained on the tool. If you haven't read it yet, our guide to HubSpot CRM Implementation covers how to sequence implementation so dashboards, pipelines, and training all land in the right order.
